Jeffery Robert Grosse, age 45, died unexpectedly on May 11, 2011, at his home in Canton. Jeff was born to John and Verona âHollyâ Brickner Barzda on April 10th, 1966 in Alliance, Ohio. At the age of 5 years he was adopted by James and Carol Grosse of Canton, Ohio, after the deaths of his parents John and Verona. Jeff attended Massillon Perry High School and wrestled for the Panthers. As a Junior he moved to Anchorage, Alaska with his Mother and earned his Varsity letter in wrestling, he was a 1984 graduate of Robert Service High. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served on active duty from 1984-1988, where he was a tech Sgt. for the 1st Strategic Hospital, stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. He was also stationed at Vandenberg Air Base, in California where he graduated from non commissioned officer school. Some of Jeffâs many interests included computers, race cars, weight lifting, football, baseball, reading and music. Jeff was preceded in death by his father James Grosse( a former Canton Police Officer). Jeff is survived by his mother Carol of Louisville, Ky and sisters Elizabeth Grossi of Louisville, Kentucky,Kathy Catazaro (Anthony), Perry of Massillon, Ohio and Tracy Booth of Louisville KY., Susan Barzda of Cambridge, Oh, Karen (John) Bishop of Canton, Ohio, Patricia (Kenneth) Semega of Lebanon, Oh, Marlene Barzda of Lebanon OH, Sandra (Darryl)DeLong of Salesville, Oh, Kathy (Timothy) Hahn of Alliance Oh; Brothers Steven (Debora) Barzda of Alliance, Oh, William (Gail) Barzda of Alliance, Oh and Michael ( Sandy) Barzda of Columbiana, Oh, Aunts Charlene Brickner of Alliance, Oh , Stella Farrington of Emonds, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Jeff will be deeply missed by all who loved him. May God Bless, Rest in Peace Dear Brother. A memorial service will be held at the Alliance Christian Center 670 W. Main St, Alliance with Pastor Paul Dykshoorn officiating, on Friday May 20th at 11:00 am, A Military Funeral and burial will be held at Western Reserve National Cemetery, in Rittman, Oh on Monday Mar 23, 2011 at 10:00 am.
