Jerry Lee Bailey

October 2, 1957 — August 27, 2016

Jerry Lee Bailey, 58, of Sebring passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 surrounded by his family. Jerry was born in Youngstown on October 2, 1957 the son of Ronald L. and Carolyn I. (Salsgiver) Bailey. Jerry was a 1976 graduate of Sebring High School and a 2012 graduate of MCCTC specializing as a maintenance mechanic.  He worked as a steelworker and retired from American Steel after 24 years, after retirement he worked at Materials Science. Jerry was a member of Alliance Baptist Temple and recently attended Damascus Friends Church.  He was a member of the Steelworkers Local 2211, coach of Sebring West Branch Hot Stove for 8 years, coach of Sebring West Branch Girls Softball for 8 years, enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, being outdoors, and watching his grandchildren play on their sports teams.

Survivors include his mother Carolyn I. Bailey of Sebring, his wife of 39 years Vicki (Carpenter) Bailey of Sebring; son Jerrid M. (Melinda) Bailey of Alliance; three daughters, Heather M. (Chad) Johnson of Sebring, Amy E. (Troy) Adams of Beloit, Kimberly A. (Michael) Parker of Beloit; thirteen grandchildren Luke, Trent, Blake, Austin, Lilly, Madelyn, Bailey, Allison, Bryce, Aubree, Jacob, Myles, Maizy.  He is also survived by five brothers; Rev. Michael L. (Cyndy) Bailey, R. Jeffrey Bailey, Tom R. Bailey, Tim R. (Brenda) Bailey, Derrick T. (Shelley) Bailey, three sisters; Deborah D. Shellar, Terry L. (Doug) DeBolt, Betty J. (Edward II) Householder, mother and father –in-law, Burl L. and Carol E. Carpenter, and sister-in-law Leigh A. (Kevin) Hurford.  He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew Jordan.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Michael L. Bailey officiating. Friends may call on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
