Jessie Marie Baum, formerly Jessie M. Mohan, 73 passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Jessie was born in Morgantown, WV the daughter of the late Ora and Evelyn (Mason) Bircher on June 23, 1939; she was a graduate of University High School and worked for Bud’s and the Record Courier. She attended Bethel United Church of Christ and was a former member of Mile Branch Grange, known for always keeping things clean, she enjoyed Dancing, Shopping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Neal Baum whom she married May 9, 1992 of Beloit, her children Ted (Tami) Mohan of Zanesville, Cindy M. (Murray Barber) Mohan of Rootstown, James (Tracy Zehnder) Mohan of Randolph, Chris (Shelly) Baum of Tennessee, Laura Poffenberger and her partner Meg Polmaroy of Canton, Joel Baum of Huntington, WV, Janet (Henry) Miller of Brewster, OH, and Kathee (Ronnie) Blevins of Alliance. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, three brothers; John (Mary Ann) Bircher of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Kenneth Bircher of California, and Richard Bircher of North Carolina. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband Louis J. Mohan in 1998 a grandson Shawn M. Sollers in 2004 and 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday May 11, 2013 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Brother Keith Kiser officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 PM and the half-hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. Memorial contributions may be made to Alliance VNA/Hospice Sawburg Rd. Alliance, OH 44601 or the American Cancer Society.
