Joanne Powell

Joanne Powell, 79, of Salem and formerly of Salineville, passed away Friday evening at her daughter’s home with her family by her side. Joanne was born in Salineville on February 12, 1930 the daughter of the late Paul A. Maher and Eva (Landry) Maher. She was a graduate of Salineville High School and worked for the US Postal Service in Salineville. Joanne was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Salineville where she served on the Altar and Rosary Societies. Joanne is survived by her son Christopher Powell of Carrollton, OH, a daughter Jennifer (Alan) Neiswonger of Salem, three grandchildren; Jessica, Kaitlyn and Mathew all of Salem. She is also survived by two sisters; Margie Krisher of Englewood, OH and Patricia Morrow of Alliance. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Oliver on October 10, 1993.
