Jodine Denny

Jodine S. Denny, 72 of Damascus, passed away at her home on March 6, 2015. Jodine was born in Salem, OH on May 24, 1942 the daughter of the late Earl and Matilda “Tilly” (Schnell) Moore. She was a 1960 graduate of Goshen High School and Mt. Union College. Jodine taught Elementary School, teaching 1st, 4th and 5th grades at BL Miller and FA Sebring Schools in Sebring as well as a substitute for Columbiana County, Stark County and Mahoning County Schools. Jodine was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ where she was a former organist and member of the bell choir; she also attended Union Church in Avon Park, FL. Jodine enjoyed playing the piano and organ and at an early age played organ at Concord Church in Salem. She was a member of NEA and the Sebring Senior Recreation Club in Sebring, FL. Jodine also enjoyed playing shuffle board and bingo at the club with other members.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Donald Denny whom she married on August 5, 1962, a son Douglas (Kathy) Denny of Hudson, 2 grandchildren Alec and Anna Denny of Hudson. She is also survived by a sister Pamela (Moore) Zornick.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday March 14, 2015 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Haan Phelps officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
