John Amabeli

John David Amabeli of Sebring, Ohio, died at 7:33 p.m, Friday, May 18, 2007 in Alliance Community Hospital, where he was born 61 years earlier. He died following a long and valiant battle against diabetes. He was born December 25, 1945, to James and Margaret (Ross) Amabeli. A graduate of Sebring McKinley High School in 1964, he worked as a lineman for the Ohio Edison Company for many years. He was a member of the National Guard and the American Legion Post #166. He was an avid collector with a passion for dogs, tools, and beautiful automobiles. He also loved riding his Harley and spending time with his family. John married his one and only love, Esther May on February 19, 1966. They were the parents of Stephanie of Mahomet, Il; Lisa (Brian) Lamont-Amabeli-White of Champaign, Il; and Nicholas (Dianne) Amabeli of Sebring. They were blessed with 3 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Michael, Uncle Wesley and Aunt Florence Brindack, all of Sebring, Uncle George and Aunt Ruby of Alliance, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 22 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Dyer officiating, Friends may call Monday May 21 from 7 to 9 and one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Mahoning County Humane Society, the National Diabetes Assoc. or the American Cancer Society.
