John Heltman

John J. Heltman, 94, of Alliance passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Roselawn Terrace in Alliance. John was born in Salem, Ohio on January 9, 1917 the son of the late Michael and Sarah (Teal) Heltman. Mr. Heltman was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Alliance. John worked at Bliss and also at Transue and Williams in the machine shop; he was a farmer and a member of the Dante Club, the Salem Saxon Club and a former member of the Alliance Elks #467 he enjoyed going hunting and fishing. Survivors include his daughter Margaret (Robert) Oyster of Alliance, a son Theodore “Ted” Heltman of Alliance, a son James Heltman of Kentucky and a daughter Janice (Brian) Marschinke of Alliance. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ann (Morris) Heltman in 1991, 2 sisters and 1 brother. A Private Family Service will be held with burial in Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home in Sebring.
