John R. Hendershott

John R. Hendershott, 93 of Alliance passed away on Wednesday December 30, 2015.  John was born in Urichsville, Ohio on May 25, 1922, the son of the late William and Mary (Lee) Hendershott.  He worked at B & W as a precision grinder, retiring from there and also farmed.  He was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years Miriam E. (VanCamp) whom he married on May 24, 1946; a son, Daniel (Jill) Hendershott of Wilmington, Ohio; two daughters, Diana Hendershott of Canton and Denise Hendershott of Lexington, Ohio; four grandchildren, Meredith (Jesse) Brutkiewicz of Columbus, Tyler (Abbey) Hendershott of Wilmington, Ohio, Rachael Hendershott of Cleveland, Danielle Hendershott of Wilmington, Ohio; two great-grandsons Cameron & Connor Brutkiewicz of Columbus.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law LeLand VanCamp.  Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother David.

A Funeral Service will take place at 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home with  Rev. Scott Hayward officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service.  Interment will take place at Fairmount Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to Lexington UMC 15035 Greenbower St. NE, Alliance, OH 44601or Alliance Hospice 2461 W.
