John âJayâ Peterson, 89 of Alliance formerly of Beloit, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Sterling House in Alliance. Jay was born in Irwin, Tennessee on January 2, 1922 the son of the late William and Edith (Cash) Peterson; he was a US Army veteran and retired as a Mold Maker from Royal China. Jay enjoyed being outdoors gardening and spending time with his family and friends and being involved with his church. Survivors include his two sons; Rodney (Dana) Peterson of Alliance, Lindsey (Barbara) Peterson of Hartville, a daughter in law Renee Peterson of Poland, 5 grandchildren; Ryan, Bethany, Kendra, Michael, Scott and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; Jack (Betty) Peterson of Sebring, Robert âGeneâ (Emmabelle) Peterson of Homeworth a sister Irene (John) Shields of Beloit and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy on March 16, 2006, a son Jeff in 2002 and a great granddaughter Tiara Smith-Peterson in 2010. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Church of God in Alliance on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 12PM with Pastor Larry Murphy officiating.
