John Shields

John E. Shields 83, of Beloit passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born on May 24, 1930, in Beech Bottom, West Virginia the son of the late Arthur and Hazel (Martin) Shields. He met and married the love of his life Irene (Peterson) Shields in 1954 He worked as a self-employed Electrician for 50 years, and was a member of North Benton Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife Irene (Peterson) Shields of Beloit, son Douglas (Debbie) Shields of Alliance. Five grandchildren; Eric (Michelle) Shields Beloit, Scott Shields of Sebring, Alisha Shields of Grove City, Brittany Shields of Alliance and Chad Shields of Ocean Pines, Maryland, six great grandchildren Kylie Shields, Konner Shields, Kendra Shields, Tori Shields, Hunter Shields and Liam Turner. Two sisters Mary O’boy of Morristown, Ohio and Emma Headen of Beech Bottom, West Virginia, and brothers Jim (Kathy) Shields of Sunnyvale, CA and Tom (June) Shields of Santa Clara Calf. Besides John’s parents he was preceded in death by a son John E. Shields Jr, two brothers Martin Shields and Robert Shields and sister Thelma Crape.
A Memorial service will be held on December 27, 2013 at North Benton Presbyterian Church at 6 PM with a time of greeting at 5:30, with Pastor Herb Goetz officiating.
