John Yates

John W. Yates age 84, of Beloit passed away at 6:13 PM, Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Pleasant View North Retirement Center. He was born in Brilliant, Ohio on Jan. 4, 1923, to the late Franklin B. and Etta Mae (Graham) Yates. John was a member of the Pine Lake Christian Church. An Army Veteran, he served hisCountry, as a medic, in the Rhineland; Central Europe and the D Day Normandy Invasion. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Award; European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal. John was an Auto Body Repairman for Mahoning Auto Sales for 27 years. a member of the Masonic Lodge #626 F.&A.M. He loved to fish and enjoyed NASCAR. Mr. Yates is survived by his wife Joann L. (Folk) Stuchell Yates, whom he married on October 9, 1982;1 daughter Marilyn (Andy) Wright of Maidstone, England; 3 step daughters Jeri B.(Gary) Thompson of Lake Milton; Jo Ellen Bell of Maui, Hawaii, Dorothy Jacobs of Boardman; 5 stepsons, James Lee Stuchell of Beloit; Jeffrey Paul (Nancy) Stuchell of Sebring ; Albert (Beverly) Ludt of Alliance; Howard (Mary) Ludt of Homeworth; William (Patty) Ludt of Alliance21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Doris O’Dell in 1981. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Joanne Dota officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley 9803 Sharrot Rd. Poland, Ohio 44514.Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
