Joie Keele

Joie Keele, born on September 15, 1963, in Parkersburg, West Virginia and passed away on March 6, 2025, in North Benton, Ohio from Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and a Double Lung Transplant in January 2019. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, known for her kind spirit and creative talents.

A dedicated professional, Joie served as a patient financial consultant for Timken Mercy Medical Center, where she was respected for her commitment to helping others navigate their healthcare experiences. Her education began at West Branch High School, from which she graduated with pride in the Class of 1981.

Joie was an active member of North Benton Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon, reflecting her devotion to her faith and community. Additionally, she was a past member of the VFW Post 6730 Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 76, showcasing her dedication to supporting veterans and their families.

Known for her many hobbies, Joie had a passion for scrapbooking, jewelry making, and coloring, and she found joy in gardening. Her creativity shone brightly in all her endeavors. An avid lover of animals, she shared a special bond with her mini golden doodle, Maxwell, whom she received as a Christmas gift.

Joie leaves behind a loving family, including her sister Cindy (Earle) Kimble; brother Rusty (Cheryl) Smith; and sister Jamie (Charlie) Pierce. She was cherished by her nephews Matthew Caso, Ryan (Christina) Caso, Nik (Molly) Blymiller, Jason (Brandi) Pierce, as well as her nieces Molly (Kevin) Crawford, Nicole (Jon) Kampfer, and many great-nieces and great-nephews including Noelle, Anthony, Nora, Klayton, Kayce, Jaxon, Alexis (Jayden Penney), Austin, Adelynn, Lance, and Ryleigh. Joie also had many special friends and extended family who will miss her dearly. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Jean (Ferrell) Keele, who cherished her deeply throughout their lives.

Joie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the family, friends, caregivers and Pastor Herb Goetz that Joie has had through her illness, especially University Hospital Lung Transplant team and Aultman Alliance Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM. A gathering of family and friends will take place the hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at North Benton Presbyterian Church, located at 19070 N Benton Rd W, North Benton, OH 44449.
