Joyce Lutz

Joyce Eileen Shaffer Lutz, 82, of Rea Drive, Salem, died at Essex III in Salem on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 after a short illness. Born September 26, 1925 in Salem, she was the daughter of William and Erma (Gibbons) Shaffer. Mrs. Lutz was a life-long resident of Salem, and a member of the First Christian Church. She graduated from Salem High School in 1943, and was employed as a telephone operator for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company from 1943 to 1947. Mrs. Lutz is survived by her brother, Dale E. Shaffer of Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Leroy Lutz whom she married September 6, 1947 and passed away on January 12, 2001, she was also preceded by one sister, Thelma Bradley, and a brother, Glen Shaffer. Joyce’s family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Grace Woods Retirement Center for their help and concern. A Private Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
