Joyce E. (Whitcher) Saltsman

Joyce E. Saltsman 78 of Damascus passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Joyce was born in Damascus on October 23, 1939 the daughter of the late Herbert and Berdena (Bauman) Whitcher. She was a lifetime member of the Damascus Friends Church where she played the piano for many services and events for over 52 years, she and her husband Don led the church youth group from 1968 to 1978 and considered all of the youth through the years their kids.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years Donald of Damascus whom she married on November 1, 1957, a sister Martha Morton and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Roger Whitcher.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Damascus Friends Church with Pastor John Ryser officiating at 11:00 AM. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and the hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
