June M. Barnes, 84 of Salem, Ohio passed away at her temporary home in Cheyenne, Wyoming on September 3, 2008. She was born on April 12, 1924 in Alliance, Ohio, the daughter of Clara and David Waithman. She attended Alliance public schools and graduated from Alliance High School. She worked as a secretary for Strong Enamel in Sebring, Ohio, until she married Earl H. Barnes on June 26, 1948. Together they raised two children; Renée and Dana in Sebring, Ohio until the family moved to Salem, Ohio in February of 1960. June was a loving, caring Mother and homemaker and an active member of the East Goshen friends Church. She will be greatly missed by her family, church, and all those who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Earl, a daughter Renée of Youngstown, Ohio; a son, Dana and his wife Debby of Cheyenne, Wyoming, three grandchildren; Jennifer Sharp of Boulder, Colorado, Stacy Barnes of Brooklyn, New York, Matthew Barnes of Golden, Colorado; a sister, Vivian Lockhart of Damascus, Ohio and a brother Gordon Waithman of Damascus, Ohio. Services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the East Goshen Friends Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jason Harsh officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8PM. Burial will be in the friends Church Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at the church following the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the east Goshen Friends Church 16800 South range Road, Beloit, OH 44609 or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Friends may sign the guest register and send condolences online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, Sebring.
