Kenneth Gobely

Kenneth W. Gobely, age 80, of North Georgetown, Ohio, died at 9:30 a.m, Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Caprice Health Care Center in Boardman, Ohio. He was born in Knox Township on May 22, 1927 to the late Ira and Olive (Cameron) Gobely. Ken was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ where he was a member of the church choir and the bell choir of Bethel Church. He was a bus driver for Goshen Schools, a truck driver and a Business owner and retired farmer. He was a member of the Teamsters # 377. Ken was an Army Vet from WWII, a member of Sebring VFW, Eagles of Salem, AMVETS, George D. Worth American Legion Post 574 of North Georgetown and President of the one room school reunion of Knox Township. He enjoyed woodworking and singing and was a long time performer for the Gee Haw Show of West Township. Mr. Gobely is survived by his wife Helen (Steves) whom he married on Nov. 20, 1947 they were to celebrate 60 years this November; four sons, Ronald (Diana) Gobely of Guilford Lake, Oh.; Danny (Suzi) Gobely of Temple, Ga.; George (Tamara) Gobely of Lake Havasu City, Az.; Randall (Laura) Gobely of Beloit, Ohio and one daughter Debra (Allen) Burkhart Gobely of New Springfield, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Dorothy Vogelhuber; Lucille Bandy; two brothers Dwight Gobely and Glenwood Gobely Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating, Friends may call Tuesday July 24, from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
