Kenneth Hartzell

Kenneth Lee Hartzell, 85, of Alliance formerly of Deerfield, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Roselawn Terrace. Kenneth was born in Deerfield on December 27, 1926, the son of the late Armon S. and Frances B. (Guthrie) Hartzell. He was a US Army veteran and served in WWII. Mr. Hartzell was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for over fifty years. Kenneth was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church, served as a township trustee and was a member of the American Legion Post #713. Survivors include his three children; Dale L. (Gail) Hartzell of Uniontown, Ohio, Dennis J. (Damian Siriani) Hartzell of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Donna L. (Philip) Mason of Alliance; two grandchildren: Katie Hartzell and Cory Hartzell, both of Uniontown, Ohio. He is also survived by his sister Jean Myers of Deerfield. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Martha J. (Haupt) Hartzell on July 21, 2002, a brother Richard Hartzell and a sister Katherine Diehl. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Hartzell Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Don Booth officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday August 21, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Hartzell Cemetery in Deerfield. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
