Kenneth "Spike" Zurbrugg

Kenneth H. “Spike” Zurbrugg, 80, of Sebring passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Mr. Zurbrugg was born in Sebring on April 26, 1929 the son of the late Homer and Cleda (McCausland) Zurbrugg. Spike was the Owner/ Operator of Zurbrugg Vault Company for 25 years retiring in 2006; he attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring and also attended Ohio State University for two years. Mr. Zurbrugg was a former employee of Beverly Farms in Alliance as sales manager; he also enjoyed working on the family farm. Kenneth was also inducted into the Sebring High School Hall of Fame. Survivors include his wife Marie (Korosy) Zurbrugg whom he married on January 28, 1966 of Sebring, five daughters; Jean (David) Wilhemi of Fargo, ND, Mary (Shawn) Jackson of Alliance, Sarah (Kate) Zurbrugg of Painesville, Catharine (Prashant) Zurbrugg of Cleveland Heights, Karen (Bill) Diminno of Malvern, two sons Jake (Erin) Zurbrugg of Hudson and Jim (Patty) Zurbrugg of Hamler, Ohio. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Samantha, Phoebe, Gus, Stella, Joey, Elizabeth, Levi, Edie Rose and Trena, a brother Ralph Zurbrugg of Alliance and three sisters; Mildred Rohr of Canal Fulton, Vera Spear of Monroeville, PA, Dorothy Wafler of Alliance and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Helen Kandel. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Ann Catholic Church of Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Dyer officiating. Friends may call at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 8:00 PM with the family present from 6-8:00 PM. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
