Leland E. Schindler, 99, of Sebring, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Crandall Medical Center. Sammy was born on April 15, 1914, on Texas Avenue in Sebring, the son of the late August & Ella (Snevel) Schindler. Mr. Schindler worked at Taylor Craft and Armourâs and retired from Royal China and Bank One. Last year he was honored as the last surviving member of the Sebring High School Class of 1932. He was a life member of Pine Lake Christian Church, previously Sebring Church of Christ. He also was very proud of being a member of Sebring Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his children, Patricia Randolph of Canton, Eugene (Lynette) Schindler of Kentucky, David Schindler of Sebring, and Pamela (Joe) Tarian of Jackson. He also leaves ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Snyder) whom he married on April 17, 1937, his daughter Paula Kay Schindler, a granddaughter Dawn Randolph Norris, a son-in-law Dale Randolph and his sister Helen Unger. A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening at Gednetz Ruzek Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Interment will take place in the Masonic Gardens at Highland Memorial Park.
