Leona Van Camp, age 88, of Clarksville, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Sterling House of Clarksville. Leona was born November 6, 1925 in Paden City, West Virginia daughter of the late, Orval and Iva Mikes Martin. She was a graduate of Cosmetology School, owned and operated three Beauty Shops, and had worked for J.C. Penny. Leona was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Van Camp and a son, David Lee Van Camp; brothers, Billy Martin, James Martin and Virgil Martin and a sister, Margaret Savage.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, CW4 (Ret) Russell (Wanda) Van Camp and Craig A. Van Camp both of Clarksville; granddaughter, Rhonda Tucker and her children, Amanda Manning, Jessica Tucker and Christopher Tucker; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Myrtle Carroll.
A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at the chapel of Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home, Sebring, Ohio with Rev. Dennis Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to acknowledge the special care and give special thanks to Asera Care Hospice, Sterling House and Field Stone Place.
