Leslie Smith Sr

Leslie A. Smith Sr., 78 of Beloit passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Leslie was born in Freedom Station, Ohio on June 22, 1936 the son of the late Harold and Verda (Smith) Smith Sr.; he was a graduate of Shalersville High School, a US Army veteran and retired from General Motors. Mr. Smith will be remembered as a stranger to no one; a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sebring, enjoyed gardening, canning his own vegetables, raising chickens and turkeys, watching his favorite cooking and public TV programs and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years Priscilla (Nelson) Smith whom he married on June 29, 1968, 7 children; Jacqueline (Tim) Shilling of Grand Island, NY, Robert W. (Terri) Hudson of Canal Fulton, Anthony W. Hudson of the home, Greg (Norit) Hudson of Medina, Richard E. Hudson of Beloit, David M. Smith Sr. of Massillon, Les “Bo” (Laura) Smith Jr. of Alliance, 16 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Robin P. (Susan) Smith of Grand Rapids, MN and a sister Chloe Ann Sweet of Shalersville. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Lesley “Jeanne” in 2011 a sister Shirley Mirande, brother Harold Smith, brother Gerald Smith, brother Lester Smith, a sister Susan Smith and a grandson Ryan Patrick Hudson
A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sebring on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home and the hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
