Linda Householder

May 6, 1938 — September 1, 2024

Linda Lu (Hurford) Househoulder, entered Lord Jesus' eternal peace on Sunday, September 1, 2024. She was born on May 6, 1938 to the late Evelynn (Clupper) and Carl (Dutch) Hurford.

She married her high school sweetheart Paul in 1956. The two welcomed three children by whom she is survived, two sons Paul Frank of Sebring and Richard of Akron, and one daughter Sherry Lynn Wartluft of Tulsa, OK.

Se was a proud 1956 graduate of Sebring Mckinley High School and a 68-year member of the Bouffant Club, a close group of high school friends that met every month after they graduated. Linda spent her time as a homemaker until her youngest was in middle school and then she worked at Americana Art until she retired.

As a lifelong member of the Sebring United Methodist Church, where she was a trustee, she loved God and Jesus Christ, worship music, volunteering, decorating, baking and cooking for events to name a few. She was very proud that "Everyone knows Methodist women are the best cooks."

Linda was an avid reader and valued education. She was a member of the Friends of the Library and volunteered for many years at a local elementary school helping children to read. She read Bible stories to her grandchildren every night, and as they got older enjoyed reading and studying the Bible with them.

Linda loved her grandchildren. She taught them to bake, lotion their elbows, and have class. She was know as "Cookie Grandma" by their friends as she would often bake cookies for everyone's birthdays and sporting events. She spent weeks every year preparing and cooking hundreds of the most delicious Christmas Cookies that she shared with all.

She was devoted to her family and took pride in them and all of their accomplishments. Linda enjoyed taking them to practices and attending all of their academic and sporting events. She never missed clipping their articles from the local papers and sharing their photos with everyone she encountered.

As a strong and spirited woman, she found joy in traveling, learning and trying new things and foods. During her travels she collected her beloved glass figurines and novelty slat and pepper shakers. Linda treasured memories at Lake Erie with her husband and family. She appreciated nature and was amused every morning when she fed the birds and squirrels. She had a love of the arts, musicals, plays, going to the movies and listening to a diverse range of music.

In addition to her children, shei s survived by eight grandchildren: Kathrynn (Todd) Pitcher, Elizabeth Householder, Ben (Trew) Householder, Maggie (Billy) Skelton, Joe Householder, David (Shannah) Wartuft, Krista Maturino, and Donny (Kalynn) Wurtluft; eleven great-grandchildren: Victoria, Christian, Violet, Jonah, Odin, Diego, Gabi, Carleigh, Cohen, DJ, and Reagan; as well as, many nieces, nephews, and her lifelong best friend Janet.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, granddaughter Alexandria, parents, and brother Carl (Dutchie) Hurford II.
