Louella Jean Shirley

Louella Jean Shirley, 65 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday morning March 23, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boardman. Jean was born in Magnolia, Ohio on August 6, 1944 the daughter of the late Sanford and Nellie (Foster) Hoagland. Mrs. Shirley graduated from Sandy Valley High School and married her husband William “Bill” Shirley on August 13, 1963. The Shirley family moved to the Salem area from Mercer, PA in 1999. Survivors include her husband Bill of Salem, a son William Jr. of Hubbard, 2 daughters Robin Bowers of Hubbard, Gayle (Casey) McGivern of Sharon, and two sons Greg Shirley of Sharon and Todd Shirley of Canfield. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother. A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Alliance at 2260 Hedgewood Ave, Alliance, OH 44601, on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 10:00AM. Friends may call at the Brown Funeral Home in Salem on Sunday, March 28th from 6 – 8 PM. Burial will take place in Washingtonville Cemetery.
