Mabel Christy

Mabel V. Christy, 81, of North Benton passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at her home after a battle with leukemia. Mabel was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia on December 12, 1927 the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Artie (Robinson) Fisher. She lived in West Virginia for over twenty years moving to Ohio after being married on October 15, 1955 to her late husband Thomas H. Christy who passed away on April 11, 2009. Mabel attended the North Benton Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her two sons; David (Chris) Workman of Dunbar, West Virginia, Gary W. Workman of Charleston, South Carolina, two grandchildren; Jennifer Lynn Workman of Thailand, Jason Workman of Columbus, Ohio and a brother Lowell D. Fisher of Charleston, West Virginia. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 sisters; Beulah Bailey, Georgia Bailey, Gatha Jones, Ruby Page, Vannia Harper, a brother Bennett Fisher and a grandson Tommy Workman. A Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 with Rev. Thomas Kinder officiating at the Hartzell Cemetery Chapel in North Benton at 2:00 PM. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
