Marcella Garvin

Marcella “Tiny” Pearl Garvin 62 of Alliance passed away surrounded by her family at McCrea Manor in Alliance on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Born in Moorehead, Kentucky on September 4, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Victor A. and Mabel J. (Holbrook) Stevens. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and visiting her family and friends down in Kentucky, but she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Garvin is survived by her husband Hugh F. “Frank” Garvin Sr. of Alliance whom she married on July 9, 1965, a daughter Jessie (Clayton) Smart of Alliance, a daughter Brenda Garvin of Canton, a daughter Sarah (Joseph) McMasters of Alliance, a son Hugh F. (Barb) Garvin of Marlboro Township, a daughter Dolly (Wayne) Stickler of Alliance, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Owen R.(Jackie) Stevens of Alliance, a sister Linda Gergel of New Franklin and a sister Bonnie(James) Packe of Chesapeake VA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Sue Johnson. Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral Home on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM with pastors; James Packe and Dave Storlie officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Alliance City Cemetery.
