Marilyn Jo Crawford, 73 of Beloit, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 6, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 22, 1938 at Alliance City Hospital to Harold and Dorothy (Shaffer) McCausland. She was a 1956 graduate and homecoming queen of Sebring McKinley High School and attended the Canton (Actual) Business College and the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School. On April 7, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, Donald David Crawford, son of Donald and Grace Crawford of Sebring and later moved to their home on four acres where they raised their family. The country home was a delightful place to raise the family and teach good work ethics, and Marilyn and Donald ensured that the children were cultured and given many opportunities to get educated. She was employed at Dye Pharmacy, in Alliance; Amours, Keener Rubber, Campfire USA, Mount Union College, and Alliance Community Hospital where she retired after 14 years of service. She was a long time member of North Benton Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. She enjoyed playing cards with the Bouffant Club (high school classmates) in Sebring, was a volunteer reader at West Branch Schools, and helped senior with tax preparation at the Alliance Senior Center. At home, she was well-known for baking delicious pies and reading the paper daily. She enjoyed picking blackberries with her friend, Loraine Carr, and participated in card ministry for all her loved ones and friends. She also enjoyed listening to Irish music, attending concerts in the park in nearby Salem, befriending numerous family pets, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by husband Donald David Crawford along with children Laura Ann (Col. Thomas) Fitch of Ludlow Falls, OH; Kathleen Ann (Dr. James) Allman of Ashland, OH; and Donald Dunn (Marlo) Crawford of Lutz, Florida. Grandchildren, Maria, Claire, Zachary, Lindsey, David, Madeline, Olivia, Meredith, and Sam. She is also survived by 2 sisters in law; Grace Crawford of Lutz, Fl, Florence McCausland of North Ridgeville, OH, a niece Jaime McCausland Cooke of Elyria, and two nephews Kris McCausland of Avon, OH and Kevin McCaulsand of Oregon. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James McCausland. Friends may call Monday, October 10, 2011 from 6pm-8pm at the Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring and the hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 11, at 11AM, conducted by Pastor Herb Goetz of the North Benton Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring Ohio.
