Martha Myers

Together Again Martha (Henderson) Myers, 90 formerly of Beloit passed away on June 23, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital. Martha had been a resident at McCrea Nursing Home’s Assisted Living unit for the past three years. Mrs. Myers was born on November 4, 1919 in Salineville, the daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Rowe) Henderson. She lived in Alliance for many years with her husband, Frank Myers, after he returned from WWII. He passed away on May 15, 2009. They were married over 69 years. Martha is survived by her two daughters, Sally (Ronald) Petrucci of Niles and Sue (John) Burkey of Alliance. She had five brothers who preceded her and one that is still living, Allen Henderson of Alliance. She also had two sisters who preceded her in death and one still living, Mable Morgan of Yelm, Washington. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Myers was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Alliance where she taught Sunday school for several years. She was a Girl Scout Leader, and later became a member of the Alliance Senior Center; she liked to read, line-dance, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed traveling with her husband after his retirement. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Highland Memorial Park, with Rev. James McCurdy Officiating. Per Martha’s wishes she will be cremated and there will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
