Martha Jean (Smith) Rastetter

Martha Jean Rastetter, 82 of Sebring went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.  Martha was born in Salem, on November 13, 1933 the daughter of the late Fred and Elphia Madeline (Partlow) Smith.  She was a graduate of Sebring High School and Kent State University, teaching third grade for 27 years at Sebring Local Schools where she shared Bible passages and prayers with her classes. Martha loved the Lord and was a member of Pine Lake Christian Church where she was active in her church and Sunday school when she was able.  She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends and enjoyed all kinds of sports.

Survivors include her two sons, Jim (Joan) Rastetter of Sebring, David (Kelly) Rastetter of Medina; four daughters, Lori A Rastetter of Sebring, Mary (Chris) Cooper of Charleston, West Virginia, Julie (Tom) Grande of Akron, Jeannie (Alan) Beal of North Carolina; twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a brother John Smith of Sebring and a sister Beulah Grey of Dayton.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Cyril James Rastetter in October of 1994, whom she married on July 25, 1959, seven siblings and a great granddaughter Chelsea.

A funeral service will take place on   Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 5:00PM at Pine Lake Christian Church.  Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 3-5 PM. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
