Mary V. Davis, 87, of Sebring passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at her home at Copeland Oaks surrounded by family and friends. Mary was born in Akron, Ohio on March 27, 1931 the daughter of the late Arnold Vannoy and Erma Conley. She began her career at Ohio Bell in 1950 as an operator and retired from AT&T as a supervisor in 1991. After retirement, Mary traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the National Mah Jongg League. Mary was an avid reader and loved to go for long walks. She also enjoyed flea marketing, flower gardening, line dancing, sing-a-longs, and playing cards and bingo. Mary loved animals, especially cats and birds, and rescued many cats during her lifetime. She was very creative, always active, and enjoyed helping others.
Survivors include her two children; Susan (Carl) Scheiben of New Springfield, Don (Claudia) Davis of Dayton, and a sister, Janet (Pat) Mills, of Atwater. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don J. Davis.
Per her request no services will be held. The family would like to thank Alliance Hospice and Salem Visiting Angels for the wonderful care they gave to Mary. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the amazing staff of the 4th Floor Assisted Living Memory Care Unit at Copeland Oaks for their kind and compassionate care of Mary during her residency and final days.
