Mary Louise (Young) Eshler

Mary Louise (Young) Eshler, 94, of Berlin Center, passed away on July 14, 2015 at her home. Mary was born on February 3, 1921 in Ellsworth, the daughter of the late Frank A. & Lena (Kille) Young. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Berlin Center High School, Class of 1939.  Mary was a member of Berlin Center United Methodist Church, Berlin Center Historical Society, Berlin Center Silver Threads, Christytown Happy Thought Club, Berlin Center Widows Group, and the Mahoning County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed preparing dinners for family and guests on the farm, and gathering friends to make hard tack candy for the turkey dinner at the church.  Mary was known for wearing high heels from morning until night.

Mary is survived by her son Ronald F. Eshler of Berlin Center, a daughter-in-law Susan Eshler of New Middletown, two grandsons Richard L. Eshler and Daniel J. (Deanna) Eshler and two great grandchildren Trevor C. Eshler and Annaliese C. Eshler. She is also survived by a brother Paul Young of Texas, a sister Elma Iddings of Beloit, two sisters-in-law, Bertha L. Young and Marlene Young both of Berlin Center.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ross “Dutch” L. Eshler whom she married on October 18, 1940 and who preceded her in death on February 12, 1987, a son Roger L. Eshler on June 10, 1999, siblings, Florence Talbot, Dorothy Cain, Elmer Young, Thelma May Penrod, Edith Hetrick, Urban Young and Frank Young.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Vincent and Rev. Russell Libb officiating.  Friends may from 6-8 PM on Friday July 17, 2015 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will take place at Hartzell Cemetery.
