Mary R. Geffert, 88, of Sebring, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Alliance Community Hospital. Mary was born in Downs, West Virginia on November 15, 1922 the daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Skavinsky) Blostic; she was a member of St. Annâs Catholic Church in Sebring and enjoyed attending sporting events that her grandchildren where involved in. Survivors include her three daughters; Jane Amabeli of Sebring, Marilyn Brannon of Millersburg, Arlis (Frank) Skivolocki of Rexford, Montana, 11 grandchildren; Joe & Ashley Amabeli of Sebring, Lindsay (Kent) Cheney of Marysville, Joyce, Amy, Bill and Ben of Millersburg, Kim, Nikki and Kelly of Akron and Joe Geffert of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, four sisters; Carole Lilley of McKeesport, SR Patricia Blostic SMIC of Parsippany, NJ, SR Eve Blostic OSF of Pittsburgh, SR Wanda Blostic OCD of Latrobe, PA and 8 brothers; Michael Blostic, Stanley Blostic, William Blostic, Anthony Blostic, Richard Blostic all of Cokeburg, Rev. Leonard Blostic TOR of Holidaysburg, PA, Charles Blostic of Streetsboro, and Edward Blostic of Scenery Hill, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Geffert on November 17, 1981 whom she married on January 31, 1942, two sons; Joseph on June 22, 1997, David on June 13, 1985, 2 sisters Stell Stuart, Helen Mance, 2 brothers; Thomas and Joseph, 2 infant sisters and an infant brother. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring at 11AM with Rev. Leonard Blostic officiating. Friends may call at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Sunday, from 6-8 PM. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
