Mary Jane Smail, 92, of Alliance, passed away on July 31, 2013 at her home. Mary Jane was born on June 3, 1921 in Scottsdale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Maurice and Virginia (King) Coffman. She worked for Keller Mine and the Sebring Times. Mrs. Smail attended Cornerstone Christian Church, was a member of the Alliance Women’s Club and a former member of the Sebring Garden Club. Mary Jane enjoyed painting and golfing and was an avid bridge player. Survivors include her son, Ted L. Smail of Alliance, two daughters Joan VanCamp of Alliance, Marge Meissner of Petersburg, Michigan; four grandchildren, Brad and Brandon Meissner, Richard and Allison Smail; two great grandchildren Kato and Chloe Meissner. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ted L. Smail, and two brothers M. Fred and James Coffman. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Friday August 2, 2013, officiated by Pastor Mike Bratten. Friends may call the hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Jane’s honor to the Alliance VNA/Hospice, 855 S. Sawburg Rd., Alliance, OH 44601.
