Maxine Gorby

Maxine V. Gorby, 93 of Alliance passed away at Crandall Medical Center on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Maxine was born in Sebring, Ohio on July 31, 1931 the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Dickson) Strait. She worked as a brusher, finisher and packer for the former Queens Pottery.

Survivors include her two sons Kevin T. (Susan) Gorby of Alliance, Ed T. (Debbie) Gorby, a step daughter Brenda (Donald) Carpenter of Austintown, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Edsel "Delphie" Gorby on February 26, 2017, a son Larry Shively, and two step brothers John and Thomas Mills.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring. Visitation will be held at the funeral home the hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
