Melvin W. Yost, 76 of Beloit passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Alliance Community Hospital. Melvin was born in Louisville, Ohio on February 17, 1936 the son of the late Henry and Beatrice Linder Yost. Mr. Yost was a US Army National Guard Veteran; he co-owned Clear-View Antenna Service and then worked as a mail runner at B&W Tubular, retiring after 34 years. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling to Lake Erie and the Outer Banks. Melvin loved his grandchildren and watching their sports activities. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandra K. (Utley) Yost whom he married on June 29, 1957, a son Michael Stephen (Laura) Yost of Alliance; a daughter Deborah Lynn (Lee) Heestand of Alliance; five grandchildren, Sean (Diane) Barker, Andrew (Keri) Barker, Lindsey Heestand, Rebecca (Jason) Thrasher, Michael (Brooke Walker) Yost Jr. all of Alliance, three great grandchildren, Kaylee E. Barker, Jonathan A. Barker and Carter M. Thrasher. He is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn (Jack) White and Joan (Herbert) Oyster both of Alliance, and a brother Edwin (Chizuko) Yost of Honolulu, Hawaii. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a great grandchild Alex T. Barker and a sister Jean A. Miller. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Father Matthew Mankowski officiating.
