Merle "Smoke" Boyle

Merle “Smoke” J. Boyle, 78 of Damascus passed away at his home on Friday, April 30, 2010. Smoke was born in McKinley Heights, Ohio on June 30, 1931 the son of the late Elgie and Naomi (Wyss) Boyle. Mr. Boyle worked at the Caroldale farm in Damascus for 48 years and also the Tippecanoe Horse Farm for 4 years. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Virginia (Mather) Boyle of Damascus, four daughters; Brenda Boyle of Columbiana, Jackie (Jim) Owen of Winona, Kathy (Jeff) Zimmerman of Salem, Denise Boyle of Damascus and four sons; Jim (Joanne) Boyle of Canton, Doug (Jill) Boyle of Damascus, Todd (Mindy) Boyle of Canton, Michael (Yvonne) Boyle of Alliance, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. John Ryser Officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM. Burial will take place at Damascus Cemetery.
