Michael E (Burnett) Burnett

March 12, 1930 — February 10, 2018

Michael Burnett, 87, was called to his eternal resting place on February 10, 2018. He entered this world on March 12, 1930 in Alliance, OH. Beloved Husband of the late Beverly K. (nee Dinger), Loving father of Michael (Maria) of Broadview Heights, Ohio and David (Patty) of Westlake, Ohio. Devoted grandfather of Matthew, Michael, Jacob, Joseph, and Cristina. Michael was the cherished son of the late Michael A. Burnett and Mildred V. Kramer. Preceding Michael in death is infant daughter, Susan Kay, his sisters Betty Jones and Barbara Tullis, and brother Donald Burnett. Michael was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean conflict. After returning from service, he worked at A&P, Alliance, Ohio where he met his wife of 62 years. After leaving A&P, he worked as a Machinist and NC Programmer for Morgan Engineering Company and American Steel Company until his retirement in 1992.He was a member of the following: Sebring First Presbyterian Church, VFW Post 6730 of Sebring, Ohio, Conrad Masonic Lodge No. 271, Alliance, Ohio, Past Master of J.E. McFadden Lodge No 697, Past District Deputy Grand Master 1993-95, Past High Priest, Alliance Chapter No. 83, Past Illustrious Master, Alliance Council No. 112, Past Commander, Alliance Commandery No. 67, Ohio Priory No. 18, Knight York Cross of Honour, Valley of Canton, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Past Commander-In-Chief 1994-95, Honorary Member 32nd degree. Michael was always willing to help others, enjoyed spend quality time with family and friends, and was active in the Sebring community, serving on the Sebring Fair Housing Board and past President of the Sebring Booster club. He was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching Sebring Trojan basketball, Cleveland sports teams, coaching Little League baseball, and was a huge Notre Dame football fan. He was an avid golfer. Michael had quite the knack for refinishing antiques and loved to help in the garden with his wife. Above all, he cherished his two sons, their wives, and his five grandchildren and was very proud of what they accomplished.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Sebring Presbyterian Church at 12:30 PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the visitation. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Michael's honor to the Sebring Presbyterian Church, 525 North 16th Street, Sebring, Ohio 44672.
