Naida Marie Thomas, 83 of St. Cloud, Florida passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Hospice of the Comforter in Alamonte Springs, Florida. Naida was born in North Benton Ohio, on October 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Alfred and Leona (Gednetz) Hilton. Naida was a graduate of Sebring High School and worked at SanCap for over 30 years. She was the former president of the Local 411 International Chemical Workers Union at SanCap, enjoyed traveling south to Florida and loved music. Naida was an expert needlewoman, doing crochet and counted cross-stitch as well as sewing. She made graduation afghans for each grandchild and also won a blue ribbon for a crocheted tablecloth.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Ronald; a son Jerry Wagner and wife Ruby of Lake Worth, Florida, a daughter Penny Kranz and husband Eugene of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Ron’s children Sandy Thomas, Lisa Diehl and Ronald Thomas Jr. of Ohio; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Jack Hilton, son Michael Lotze , granddaughter Paula Kranz, and grandson Keith Lotze.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Goetz officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
