Nancy Maldonado

Nancy Maldonado, 76 of Sebring went home to be with the Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Nancy was born in Spencer, West Virginia, on April 1, 1938, the daughter of the late Lonnie Glen and Gwendolyn (Nichols) Midcap. She moved to Ohio at the age of 19 and worked with her daughter Patty at the former Phil’s Greenhouse in Alliance, Graber’s Produce and K.W. Zellers and Son in Hartville. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, listening to gospel, country and bluegrass music and taking trips to West Virginia and other places. The last year and a half of her battle with cancer, she especially enjoyed the simple pleasures of holding her granddaughter, “baby” Danette on her lap, and receiving hugs, kisses and hand massages from her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Olen John (Tracey) Kinsley of Alliance; three daughters Nancy (Jim) Wills of Green, Janet Kinsley of Alliance, Patty (Dennis) Simmons of Alliance; sixteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three sisters Brenda Wright of Spencer, WV, Phyllis (Harold) Moniger of Daytona Beach, Florida, Honey Lue Midcap of New Lexington, Ohio and her dear brother-in-law Jim Freeland of Canton. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Morgan, five sisters including infant sister Efie Wanda Midcap, Betty Wilson, Gene Paugh, Edith Sampson and Mardell Freeland.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Community Care Center, Hospice and Alliance Community Hospital for their loving care and support of Nancy.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Sunday evening at the funeral home and the hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s honor to the charity of the donor’s choice. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
