Norma Cannell

Norma M. Cannell, 99 of Sebring passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Crandall Medical Center. Norma was born in Sebring on October 14, 1914 the daughter of the late Benjaman and Ada (Robertson) Sharpnack; she was a 1933 graduate of Sebring High School and a 1937 graduate of the Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing. Norma was a Registered Nurse at Alliance Community Hospital for 30 years and a member of the Youngstown Hospital Association Alumni and the retired nurses of Alliance. She was also a member of the former Sebring Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her two sons; John A. “Jac” Cannell and James R. (Bobbi) Cannell both of Sebring, five grandchildren; Trevor, Tina, Chris, Jim Jr. and Mikki and nine great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John “Art” Cannell on May 17, 1992. The family would like to thank the staff of Copeland Oaks and Crandall Medical Center for their compassion and care of their mother and grandmother over the years.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home with Paul Freer officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Memorial contributions can be made in Norma’s honor to the Life Care Fund at Copeland Oaks, 800 South 15th Street, Sebring, OH 44672.
