Norma Pinkerton Hawkins

Norma Jean Pinkerton Hawkins, 73, of Akron and formerly of Alliance, peacefully passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Norma was born in Sebring on April 29, 1938 the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Matthews and Eva E. (Marshall). Norma spent 43 years of Services in Hairdressing, being a teacher, instructor and Salon owner; she also worked for 15 years for Loreal International. She was a member of the National Cosmetologists Association for 40 years, Quota International, Girl Scouts of America, and the Alliance Senior Center; she enjoyed Ballroom dancing, shuffleboard, swimming but especially just spending time with her family, friends and being involved at church. Survivors include her husband Richard Hawkins whom she married on February 10, 2010 of Akron, two sons N. Matthew (Deborah) Pinkerton of Minerva, William Lee (Renee) Pinkerton of Alliance a daughter Mary Elizabeth (Dana) Tournoux of Alliance, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a sister Gloria E. Snyder and a brother Ernest L. Matthews both of Alliance. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Lee Matthews Jr. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00AM at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home with Rev. Russell Libb officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home the hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
