Norman Fred “Baygo” Stanley 67, of North Benton died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. Norman was born in North Benton on June 8, 1942 the son of Norman Albert Stanley and Helen Vera (Sheiben). Mr. Stanley worked for 35 years as a carpenter and painter for Kintz Construction and Beaver Construction companies; a graduate of Goshen High School, he was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and he attended Westville Bible Community Church. Norman was also a member of the Carpenters Local #69 in Canton, the Sebring VFW #6730, and the American Legion Post 76 in Sebring. He enjoyed woodworking, especially cabinet making, and customized car painting. He was an avid artist whose hobbies included model cars, NASCAR, yard work and Siberian Huskies. Survivors include his; mother Helen of Salem, wife Rhonda (Fortune) Stanley of North Benton whom he married September 20, 1997, two daughters; Kami Dakota Morris of Alliance, Cherie Danielle Morris of Ravenna, 5 grandchildren; Morgan Nakiyah Stanley, whom he loved, Caleb Andrew Collins, Cole Benjamin Duchon, Bradley Owen Hill and Luke Menteer. He is also survived by an Uncle Laverne Stanley of North Benton, a sister Alice Kelley of Salem and 2 nephews; Carl Kelley of Tipp City, OH and Curtis Kelley of Champaign, IL a special friend Greg Lucas of North Benton. He was preceded in death by his father Norman Albert Stanley in 1977. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 1st at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rod Doran officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hartzell Cemetery. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
