Patricia Ann Weingart transitioned from this earth at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 20, 2024. She was born to Ted and Janet Close on April 16, 1946 in Salem, Ohio.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane Weingart on Sept. 27, 2007; her daughter Michelle Keiser on Sept. 6, 2022 and her sister, Carol Morgan on Dec. 27, 2015, along with her special aunt and uncle, Eunice and Dean Close. She and Duane were married in 1982 and celebrated 25 years together before his passing.
Patty is survived by her daughter Brenda, grandsons, Brian (Lauren) McNew, Brandon Lotz; sister Gayle (Bill) Blair, sons Dean Weingart, Dwight Weingart daughter Charlene Menegos, grandchildren Jared and Jacob Weingart, Rachel Weikart and Leah Menegos, along with numerous cousins.
Patty spent most of her life in the country, in the Beloit and Damascus area. She later moved to Alliance. In her younger years, Patty was always active, skating, swimming, horseback riding and riding her bicycle. Patty and Duane loved to travel, enjoying concerts, fairs and auctions. All the children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
Patty loved animals, especially cats. While in assisted living, she yearned for the company of a cat. Brian got his grandma a cat but her secret was soon discovered and the cat found a new home with Michelle. Patty enjoyed the concerts at the facility and outings with her sister. She loved to do jigsaw and word find puzzles and on occasion, played cards with her fellow residents.
Patty was a long-time member of Damascus Friends Church. Despite her poor health in her later years, her faith never waivered.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home in Sebring with Pastor Rick Brendlinger officiating. A time of visitation will be held two hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, in Beloit, Ohio. Friends and family may watch the live stream of her service, send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
