Biography

Paul Lindy Burgess, 85 of Sebring passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Alliance Community Hospital, Paul was born in Alliance on July 7, 1929 the son of the late Paul O. and Olive Opal (Craven) Burgess; he was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church, a 1948 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School, worked for Salem Label for 25 years and Thorne's IGA in Alliance for 7 years. Paul will be remembered for his primary mode of transportation which was walking many would find him going from here to there multiple times a day, but his most important thing in life after his wife passed away was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his five daughters; Barbara (Clancey) McLin of Houston, TX, Sharon (Tom) Hearn of Onalaska, TX, Debra Csepke of Harrison, MI, Karen (Reggie) Neill of Sebring, Linda (Chuck) Wyeth of Lubbock, TX and a son Robert Burgess of Sebring, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Hill) Burgess who passed away on May 28, 2003, 2 brothers Edward and Victor and 3 grandchildren; Connie, Chad and Josh.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on Thursday January 8, 2015 at Gednetz-Ruzek with Rev. Scott Mikesell, Rev. Mike Kimball and Chuck Wyeth officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8PM. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
