Paul Willem Johan van der Veur, 89 of Sebring passed away at Aultman Hospital in Canton on Thursday, January 20, 2011. Paul was born in Medan, Sumatra, Indonesia the son of the late Wilhelmus Marius van der Veur and Johanna (Guldemond) van der Veur; he received his Bachelorâs Degree from Swathmore, a Masterâs Degree from the University of Minnesota and his Doctorate from Cornell. Paul loved to play bridge and was a Professor at Ohio University teaching Political Science and South East Asia Studies, he was also a former professor in Australia, Hawaii and at Yale University. Survivors include his four children; Julia van der Veur, Paul R. (Shirley) van der Veur, Mark (Edie) Morgan and Anne White; he is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a sister Henrietta Everharda van der Veur Fabius. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Walker) van der Veur. A private family service will be held at Quaker Hill Cemetery on Friday, January 21, 2011 with Rev.
