Paulmira âMenaâ Helen McGrew, of Beloit passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at home. Mena was born in Alliance, on November 8, 1926 the daughter of the late Samuel L. & Angela R. (Dolfi) Sacconi. She was a caster in the pottery industry, a telegraph operator and an elevator operator. Mrs. McGrew was a member of the Greenford Lutheran Church, donated to SPCA and enjoyed bowling. Mena would like to be remembered as a wife, of Paul Wilbur McGrew her husband of 65 years, as a mother and sister of Joyce A. McElroy of Beloit, Susan A. McGrew of Beloit, Christine M. (Trent) Shirey of Canfield, Nancy K. (Bruce) Wyss of North Benton, Ted E. (Joann) McGrew of Alliance, Henry W. (Joyce) Sanford of California, Gary E. (Effie) Sanford of Alliance, William J. (Carol) Sanford of Beloit, Sandra (Ronald) Wonner; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Tony, Pete and Bill, a sister, Anita, and a nephew David. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Highland Memorial Park Chapel at 2:00 PM officiated by Chaplain Kathleen Zimmerman. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
