Pearl Meek

Pearl Meek, 101, of Wilson, NC and formerly of Sebring, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Wilson Pines. Pearl was born on June 20, 1910 in Enon Valley, PA the daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Estell) Haskins; she married Lewis Meek on April 28, 1928. Mr. and Mrs. Meek always enjoyed their fishing trips to Canada each summer; she also enjoyed bowling with the Swinging Sixties and loved to play cards. They moved to Sebring from East Palestine, OH in 1939. Mrs. Meek worked in potteries, retiring from The Royal China Co. Pearl was also a member of Pine Lake Christian Church (formerly Pine Lake Church of Christ.) Survivors include her two children; Sondra Everett of Wilson, NC., Gary (Janice) Meek of Fort Mill, SC., 5 grandchildren; Kim (Ron) Hands of Wilson, NC, Dr. Jeffrey (Jackie) Everett of Knoxville, TN, Eric (Shanan) Meek of Gastonia, NC, Derick (Pam) Meek of Gastonia, NC, Bret Meek of Cramerton, NC and 9 Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis on March 18, 1977, her brothers Joseph and Floyd Haskins, a sister Gladys Kale and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring at 11AM. Friends may call at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Thursday, the hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
