Peggy Sue Alexander Shafer, 63, of Salem has fallen asleep in death at Hospice House of Poland on Friday, August 3, 2012. Peggy was born in Hawkins County, Ohio on September 13, 1948, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Lanning) Alexander. A graduate of Salem High School, she worked at Metal & Wire in Salem, was a member of the Salem Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses, enjoyed making dolls and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughters Shelly Davis of Boardman, Kelsie Ala of Santa Maria California, four sons Charles Draher of East Liverpool, Paul Draher of East Liverpool, Blake Shafer of Cleveland, Cody Shafer of Seattle, Washington; 6 grandchildren. Peggy is also survived by three sisters Judy (Stephen) Vitko of Salem, Patty (Russell) Heacock of Alliance and Nancy (Gary) Peck of Alliance. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Kirkendall. Services will be held on Tuesday August 7, 2012 at 7 PM at the Salem Kingdom Hall with Tom McConnell officiating. Friends may come to the hall the hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512.
