Priscilla J. Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, in Beloit, Ohio, at the age of 85. Born on July 31, 1939, in Vermont, Priscilla was the daughter of William and Bernice (Chamberlain) Nelson.
Priscilla was a proud valedictorian graduate of Goshen High School, signifying her dedication to education and personal excellence. She furthered her commitment to helping others by becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse at Alliance Community Hospital, where she devoted her career to caring for patients with compassion and skill.
Family was the cornerstone of Priscilla's life. She is survived by her seven children: Jacqueline Shilling (Tim) of Grand Island, NY; Robert W. Hudson (Terri) of Canal Fulton; Anthony W. Hudson of the home; Greg Hudson (Norit) of Medina; Richard E. Hudson of Alliance; David (Laura Lones) M. Smith Sr. of Massillon; and Les "Bo" Smith Jr. (Laura) of Alliance. Her legacy also includes 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of love and nurturing. She is also survived by two sisters Ruth (Ray) Spencer and Margaret Stiles.
Priscilla was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Leslie A. Smith Sr. on November 20, 2014, a daughter, Lesley Jean, as well as her parents, William and Bernice Nelson. She also mourned the loss of her sisters Ida Nelson and Eva Courtney, and her grandson Ryan Patrick Hudson.
In her leisure time, Priscilla cherished reading, cooking, and spending quality moments with her family, reflecting her commitment to fostering bonds and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
A visitation will take place on November 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sebring, Ohio. This will be followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, concluding with burial at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit at 1:00 PM.
