Richard R. “Lefty” Turner 82 of Sebring passed away Monday, November 12, 2007, at Alliance Community Hospital. Richard was born in Carrollton on March 16, 1925, to the late James and Lottie (Shinn) Turner. A U.S. Navy WWII veteran “Lefty” served on a Mine Sweeper, he was employed by B & W Tubular at the Keystone Plant and in his younger years was an avid baseball player and enjoyed a good round of golf. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and traveling. He is survived by his daughter Denise A. (Steve) Ramey of Sebring, two grandchildren; Jason Ramey of Sebring and Lindsay Ramey of Alliance, and a great grandson Denzell Ramey. He is also survived by a sister Delores Poole of Sun City, AZ and many nieces and nephews. “Lefty” was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret Jean (Larkins) in Sept of 1996 and three brothers; William, Jim and Joe. Funeral Services will be held at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 16th at 1:00 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 8 PM with the family present from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Sebring Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in “Lefty’s” honor to; The Gluten Intolerance Group (Celiac Disease) 31214-124 Avenue SE, Auburn, WA 98092.
