Robert Broskie

Robert Louis Broskie, 63 of Beloit, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Wade Park VA Medical Center in Cleveland. Bob was born in Canton on November 12, 1947, the son of the late Sigmund T. and Helen O. Broskie. Mr. Broskie was a Sergeant in the US Air Force serving in Vietnam; in 1983 he was selected to receive the Outstanding Vietnam Veteran Award for his work with Job Placement for Disabled Veterans. Bob was a member of the American Legion and VFW; he enjoyed many things including; model trains (especially building dioramas for them), history, playing cards, chess, gardening (planting beautiful floral/ landscaping designs) and watching birds. Survivors include his devoted wife Joane (Oreskovich) whom he married on June 11, 1988 of Beloit, 3 step children; Jennifer R. (Mike) nee Douglas Conny of Beloit, Michael A. (Pamela) Douglas of Beloit, Stephanie L. (Christopher) nee Douglas Madeline of Stafford, VA and 7 grandchildren; Julia Conny, Rachel Conny, Michael Douglas, Mathew Douglas, Kayla Madeline, Roman Madeline and Mason Madeline. He loved all his grandchildren as if they were his own. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring at 11:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Dyer officiating.
